Note that the cabinets are not joined in the middle:

They are two separate cabinets, which will go in one at a time, slide horizontally in place, and the corners still have a little wiggle room to get them tipped in. Worst case, I can saw off pieces and glue/fillet the bits back in against the hull. The fits look really tight, but it is about 1/4" of wiggle room either direction. Keep watching the website to see if it goes well or if I really screwed up royally!

It is designed to have one seat box go in, then the other, then a removable section of sole is screwed down in the middle. This allows for hard mounting of the seat boxes, stiffening the hull up, while the walkway will just be bedded in 3M 101 so I can cut the bedding and pull the sole out to have a look at the bilges when need-be. She's a real wood boat, so there might be a little more maintenance than one of the designs here. Talking with an owner/commercial fishermen, he does paint every 3 years, and thats about it as far as maintenance goes, though he allows water to run into his bilges, where I won't.

Work progresses, but it isn't as majestic of a change today, just lots of tasks.

Coated the sole support:

Figuring out the details of the drain sumps back aft here:

Getting the detail work done on the seat cabinets before they go into the boat permenantly:

Out came the sticky stuff:

Seat boxes are now highly immobilized in the boat, almost like that's where they will live now:

Ooo, look at that fiberglass work:

Did a little tutorial on the process, nothing special, on the site for lay people or new builders.

One of the worst winters in memorable history. Last year this time we had 3-4 feet of snow on the ground. This year? 50 and sunny outside. Good for building a boat (and tuna fishing this summer), but horrible for skiing.
