Well, the boat is rigged and ready to go to the aluminum fabricator this weekend.

Took it out for a couple runs over the last week...the first was pretty much a cluster. Got to the ramp with my wife and 2 year old daughter to find a 30 mph cross wind. Decided to give it a go anyway, and found out as I was backing the boat off the trailer that I had hooked the hydraulic steering up backwards!! So not only am I fighting the wind, but also fighting the backwards steering and to make matters worse it's a jet, that only steers when you use the throttle. Made it through all that unscathed though.

Got the steering corrected and all is good now, and loving the results!

Topwater, I bought the jet drive from Outboard Jets and installed it on a stock Yamaha motor.

I did find out though that all of the factory installed jet drives actually come from Outboard Jets as well. They hold the patent on this type of jet lower unit and sell it to the outboard manufacturers...

I got the tunnel extension from Outboard Jets as well, and it was relatively simple to install. Keeps the intake fed with water and keeps the toe of the jet from spraying water back in the boat.

I'm not sure I could put that beautiful thing in the old nasty, muddy water  Sure hope I get to lay eyes on it one day.
