Garvey 10 Shipment

Postby chip7kay » Sat Jun 09, 2012 10:11 am

I received my order for a Garvey 10 CNC kit and an extra sheet of ply on May 30. The shipment arrived damaged...it had been run-over. I pointed out the damage to the driver and he gave me a tracking number and told me to contact the shipper, which I did. Upon further inspection the kit was all in a jumble but was salvageable, although some pieces did have tread marks embossed in them. The extra piece of plywood has a corner missing. It is also the wrong piece. I ordered the Italian to match the kit, but got Joubert. I reported the damage on May 30th and was asked to send photos. I sent photos of the damage on the 31st of May and followed up with emails on May 31, June 3, June 5 and June 8. Except for the original request for photos they have been 100% non-responsive to any of my emails. Short of contesting the credit card charge, I don't know what to do next. Any thoughts?

We were not aware of that problem.
You should have contacted us, not the trucking company.
Please communicate with the orderdesk at e-boat.net, we will take care of it.
Let us deal with the shipper.
We hate that kind of thing: our warehouse guy spends a lot of time packaging the kits carefully and they rarely suffer damage.

We will first make certain that the insurance claim is processed properly and there should be no problem since you notified the driver.
While we process the claim, we will find a way to replace the damaged sheets.
Compare what you have to the nesting drawing on the plans. The parts are not arranged exactly the same but they should all be there.

We were all out of the office on Friday. We are at our annual boat builder meeting. Joel will be back on Monday. Feel free to call.
