Re: FS 18 build (first ever boat build)

Need to run wire and mount the motor, add a rub rail, fit the trailer and a few other small things. 95% done i would say. http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums...

Re: FS 18 build (first ever boat build)

Well, i fit the deck on to see how it looked and turned out pretty good. Also got some power for her too! Hope it doesnt pull my transom off. A little more than i expected but oh well. 25 hp efi 4stroke, power tilt and trim electric start and pull. Not a fan of the 4stroke performance or weight but ...

Re: FS 18 build (first ever boat build)

Johna, yeah i want the water away from the chase tubes. I would have rather ran the chase tubes under the gunnels and along the hull sides. But im not changing it now. The drain issue on the other boat was basicly the same problem. had a drain in the rear bulkhead and just drained throuout the whole...

Re: FS 18 build (first ever boat build)

Well, got some more done sunday. I decided to do my decks all one piece and just flip them in one shot on my crappy jig setup. I dry fit them first and then clamped em up. Plus, it saves me some work when i go to install the deck. I still havnt got a gas tank yet either. Gonna try and pick one up th...

Re: FS 18 build (first ever boat build)

Well, got some more work done today. Got the inside cockpit sanded, rod holders drilled and a few other little things. Gonna get back on it tomorrow. Had to buy some west system friday and let me just say the ratio crap sucks 5:1. Dont have the pumps for the cans or that would make it alot easier. h...

Re: FS 18 build (first ever boat build)

Thanks for the comments Chuck. I saw your build too, get some help with that bottom glass. That part took about 7 hours, i dont see how some of these guys do it with their much larger boats. But i prolly work alot slower than most as you can tell. Come by and check it out sometime. You gonna be at t...
