Re: Phantom 16 - 13 years later

Good idea on purging the tank. I'll fill it with soapy water a few times and let it drain out the hole at least.

Phantom 16 - 13 years later

Been a long time since I last posted but life gets in the way sometimes. Anyway, the Phantom has been idle for 4 years or so due to the drought in Texas but that is over and Lake Travis is full again. Here is the boat for those who don't know http://bateau.com/prodimages/PH16_350.jpg Had to clean th...

Re: Bass boat choice

The PH will slide in a turn as will any wide shallow vee. I added some fins made out of glass that helped a lot : http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/10139/fins.jpg http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/10139/fin%20in%20place.jpg Quite a few people have modifed them for bass boat duty.

Re: PH 18

Don't do it. I used it on the bulkheads and stringers and it was a mistake. More time and money spent fixing the warps and filling the rough surface than it was worth. They also had fir then but I have not seen it in years. Also a 150 is way too big for that boat. Bassmunn is building a bass boat ve...

Re: PH18 Build in North Dallas

Well it sure looks different. Maybe Jacques dropped the chine some at the bow to make it easier to build. Quite a few early ones had droopy bows (mine included).

I don't think the plans have changed. I beleive the difference is one is a PH16 (mine) and the other is a PH18.

The steel is up and the roof on :!: Decided to go with a 12 ft height after all the help here. Seems huge now but I'm sure it will fill up quick. http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/10139/shop2.jpg http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/10139/shop1.jpg I'm doing it myself since I've joine...
