Jacques, It is a small boat: 4,7m. She needs a tapered stayed mast (without spreaders). I don't know the righting moment. For the sail area: 8m2. The boat displacement is 160kg. If in alu, the mast section is 60X54mm and the last 1,7m is tapered. The overall length of the mast is 5,8m. Thank you.

Carbon fiber mast

I am interested to build a carbon mast with the technic proposed by Jacques, but the kit offered is for a maximum leight of 17'. My sailboat is a 15' and need a 19' mast. How is it possible to adapt the technique? Is it possible to buy only the instructions? Anyone knows websites on that topic?

Vastringue, what were your reasons for using a traditional jig to build instead of a "basket mould"?

Simple: That's the way the plan is intented to be used.

Dear Dipadharo, Here, all the bulkheads are in place, some shetts of ply are already scarfed and the botom planking will begin very soon. I bought the mast kit from bateau.com. It is not for the AR15 but for R550. I have ordered the spar kit from you and if I am OK it is made by US Spars.
