Voids behind tape

I know this has been talked about, but I did a search and couldnt find the post. Some areas I have taped would not lay flat against the wood. After the epoxy cured these areas appeared white. What should I do at this point. While one spot was still wet I put a slit in the tape and re-epoxied. That s...

Thanks cottontop, your boat looks great! I noticed in your post you mixed wood flour with your epoxy to help fill your weave. Did you mix to the consistency of sheetrock mud? That sounds like a great idea. Im just wondering what consistency to use.

OD 18 Cloth

I have two types of cloth that came with the kit. I think they are 12oz biax, and 6oz woven. I believe the 12oz goes on the bottom up to the style line. Does it also cover the transom? Where does the lighter weight cloth go? Any suggestions, or am I not reading the lamination schedule closely enough...

OD 18 taping questions

Do the lower and upper panels need to be taped? I have taped the keel panel to the chine panel, and the chine panel to the lower panel. The lamination schedule isnt quite clear to me the joint between the lower and upper panel. Next question, I use the biax cloth for the bottom up to the upper panel...

First Casualty on the OD18

Unfortunately when I spliced the side panels together I misread a post on this site. I thought I was supposed to use the lighter weight tape for areas that need to bend allowing a more true bend. I used the 4" tape. However, last night glueing the last panel, while dry fitting, the rear splice broke...

Evild, paint looks good, how hard was it to fill between the upper and lower panels, I like the look of no spray rail.

Isnt it nice, I love the snow, however it is bad for my work and work on the boat. We have about 4 inches on the ground right now and it coming down hard. I also plan on putting cloth on everything, I feel I have done well with my epoxy amounts but I know I will be ordering more. Thanks for the info...
