Cool design... The biggest question I have is about the draft while running. Would the flat bottom at the stern along with a motor set back allow you to run shallow enough to skip the "tunnel". I like the the smaller engine requirement as that reduces prop diameter hopefully reducing running draft b...

Fishing Guide in the Marco Island Area
Planning a trip to the Naples/Marco island area and would like to know if any of you guys know a fishing guide down that way you would suggest.
Also, any recommendations for beach front lodgings would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Cary

Thinking About Selling My Ph18 - Whats the best approach?
So I built my Ph 18 a couple of years ago and really have not been able to use it as much as I have wanted to. Certainly not enough to justify the space it takes up in the garage. Any suggestions on the best way to sell a home-made boat. Would I be better to sell the motor separately as it was brand...

I have a PH18 with a 90 hp 4 stroke Yamaha. I'm running a 17" pitch prop as well. At WOT I am doing about 42 mph. Hole shot is not a problem at all for me. She pops right up on plane. I even use it to pull the kids skiing. I know there are other with 90's on this hull that do better than I. I'm not ...

That is the way I mounted the nav lights on my PH18. Before I did so I read the Coast Guard regs on the topic. My recollection is that the only requirements for the Port/Starboard lights is that they be above the main deck sheer line. I recall this as it makes all the eyelid lights out of compliance...

I have a PH 18 and I agree with Shine... for drifting across a flat and fishing it is hard to imagine a better boat than the PH 18. Stable roomy and the walk around deck is the envy of every fisherman that sees the boat. The problem that I have is that getting to the flats almost allways requires a ...

I never ran the boat with out it so it is hard to talk to the differences. For me, the PH18 would not fit my usage profile without the jack plate. At a minimum it probably buys about 4" of reduced draft. The boat also runs much faster with the motor higher (less drag). I had to put a dolefin on to r...
