Heck, I lived in Baton Rouge, LA for 4 years. I found some 3/4 marine on sale at lowes once. should have bought it, but didn't. It was cheap. One local store down there had to have it shipped in from Raceland, LA, about 2 hours from my side of Baton Rouge. Forgot what brand it was, but it wasn't the...

Marine plywood source in Central Illinois

Anybody got a good source for marine plywood in the Springfield, Illinois area? I'll go as far as St. Louis to the south, Peoria to the north, or Champaign to the east (lets face it, there isn't a lot to the west of Springfield but corn).

thanks,
Patrick

I used to live in Baton Rouge. I know several people that run the river south of Venice. If you are thinking about running a boat like the DS15 in the main channel of the river anywhere south of New Orleans, I would seriously reconsider. Between the big ocean freighters, the barges, and the crew boa...

I would think that it would make a pretty good platform for a floating duck blind for larger waters. The biggest concern that I would have would be the waves often encountered on bigger waters. There was a video by Barnie Calef from last year showing where he made a huge boat blind on a 20 foot trac...

You might check out the Mud Buddy Hyper with a 14hp motor. The weight might be light enough to fit a GF16. You won't get blazing speeds, but you'll get further back than anyone else. I posted up some time ago about using these motors on the GF16. The problem that was pointed out by jacques, especial...

Two months ago I would have taken you up on that offer. I just moved from Baton Rouge to Illinois, so it's a bit far. I've thought about building either a GF16 or GF18 for duck hunting. I really want to put one of the short shaft mud motors on one. My only reservation on the GF18 is the width, the l...

How is that tunnel working for you? How did you come up with the design for your tunnel?

I would consider where you hunt before building an 18 foot duck boat. For transporting you to and from your hunting spot, an 18 might be OK in big open water areas. But that is a lot of boat to hide, not to mention the impact on maneuverabilty (sp??) and access. If you hunt in the timber like I do, ...

either new or used is fine. The best example that I have found so far of where I am going with this plan is the PolarKraft V 1910 Pro DC. Basically a big water walleye, bass, and musky boat. Dual consoles, casting deck on the front and rear, and 2 rows of seats behind the consoles.

Side console help

Fellas, I have seen plastic side consoles used on several pics of boats on this site. Most notably, on the Phantom 18 converted into a bass boat and I believe on the Zenbasser. I am looking for a source for these consoles so that I can incorporate them into a Ph 22 I am in the planning stages of. Do...
