I also simply primed and painted after the epoxy step. The result is rather rough, fiberglass seems are evident, but I don't really care. Maybe on the next one.

I too do not know what "fairing" is. Can someone explain?

I found rudder hardware (both pintles and gudgeons) at my local West Marine (http://www.westmarine.com) as well as http://www.sailnet.com/ which had them cheaper.

LOL... Erik did get an A+ on his project, but some girl won the best project award for someting not nearly as ambitious, but probably infinitely more understandable by the judges.

Need a source for D4 mast

Am making the Spirit Sail for a D4. Mast is supposed to be 2 inch diameter spruce or aluminum. I am having trouble finding either. Any suggestions on where I could find something suitable?<BR>Thanks,<BR>Larry

I put foam under the seats and am sealing them up. Figured I´d rather have the extra bouyancy than the extra storage, but have no experience with it yet...

Gary,<BR>Looks good, but I would think there needs to be a loose end of the sheet that you can you use to pull the sail in or let it out. How do you do that with your arrangement? Do you use the end with the clasp and just leave the clasp on the sheet horse so that it doesn´t go anywhere if you let ...
