chop mat compatibilty

Hi gang, been gone awhile. Getting back into boat fix mode. Is there any way to tell if a chop mat is epoxy compatible by texture or sheen? i was given two bags of scraps that are big enough to do my rod boxes. If i just lay some up for a test what would failure look like?

Re: 95 Skeeter zx200 repair

Thanks again Larry. I know I can fix this. In order to not clog up the original post, I didn't say I have done a bit of interior glass work and a couple of small transoms, however it was not with epoxy and from all I have read here I wish I had known sooner. I beat on this boat for 30 min before I b...

Re: 95 Skeeter zx200 repair

Thanks Shine, I am aware of the unknown factor. The lower pic is the top of a stringer in front of the knee brace. I just stuck my finger in up to my palm. I've had oatmeal stiffer than that. However i hit the knee braces with a hammer and it bounced and I cant flex the transom standing on the motor...

Re: 95 Skeeter zx200 repair

Thanks for the reply Larry. It took me 10 or 11 tries to get that one to post. Trying to follow the procedure laid out by Jacques in the how to's, the steps did not flow for me. I was betting on the transom but like you said, got to demo first. I have been waiting a year to start due to funds. Right...

Hello all! First post here.I found this site doing a search for repair ideas and all I can say is WOW! I have been reading here almost a year off and on and I know I haven't really scratched the surface. I am about to engage in a repair on my boat. The short story is that we hit a wave a little croo...
