Garmin uses proprietary maps and they gouge you for them. I bought a Hummingbird and like it. Came loaded with Navionics maps. Hence their success in aviation. Pilots are used to getting gouged for stuff, and having the most current info is mandatory. Are the maps Hummingbird comes with for just on...

New GPS

My old Garmin GPS is starting to show its age so I am looking for a new one. What do you guys like? It needs to be fairly small as I do not have a lot of room to mount it.

Yep, they can be smooth and fair with no fairing compound on them. Does not happen very much so smile and take your win.
Those disks are not so good on wood but they are pure hell on glass :!: Take your time and go slow or you will have plenty of areas needing fairing compound :wink:
