Have you thought about using nidacore for the sole? If you went 3/4 core and one layer of 1708 each side it should be a nice deck.

Doing like Fallguy says will be the easiest to heat but it might be hard to work on stuff. It will depend on what you are doing. You can build a 2x4 frame and cover it with plastic.
