Remember Florida was the main source for cedar lumber for pencils until timbered out. Best wishes in the future boat build

The thickness I use is 3/8. That together with the gasket I use puts you flush with the gutter. Very light and very strong. This is a pic of the fishbox, large square and small rectangle. We do build and sell hatch and gutters fallguy. We have several sizes. No need for the extra 4 layers. I was just telling you what I did for a beaching keel. The while boat will rest on it. Build it with a total if 4 layers of glass. After it cures a few days; not overnite; if you don’t like the stiffness; add a layer to the inside of the cover... You need edge thickn...
