People say the same about paint. There is no perfect solution and it mostly comes down to surface prep for either system as to how the item withstands the environment. Paint is worse. I work in the sign business and we paint a lot of aluminum. We sand with 180 grit, etch with this product https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/cspages/alumiprep.php It is diluted 50/50 in a tank sprayer, sprayed on the surface and scrubbed with a red scuff pad and then rinsed thoroughly. Don't know where you are, but I had a deck a similar shade of grey and it got so hot in the FL sun you couldn't stand on it barefoot.

I've had the shrinking foam issue on two different boats. I even had the re-pour over the previously shrunk foam shrink after a period of time. Never again...

I had green camo on my boat. It faded pretty bad after a couple of years. My son has the desert camo on his and it has held up well.

I made my own out of a piece of scrap .080 aluminum. I polished it up then bought a $9 number/letter stamp set from harbor freight and stamped the hin into it. I then riveted it to the transom.

I used a cheap lawn tractor battery and a cheap motorcycle battery to start a 20hp 4 stroke and a 9.9 4 stroke with absolutely no issues. The listed cca "requirements" for these motors are ridiculously high.
