Re: New designs: pontoon catamarans

I noticed that, the asymmetrical design struck me right off. It's a great looking boat. Considering the performance you claim, it is a definite contender for me. Those steps were just the best idea though. :D What's asymmetrical about it? the two hulls looks pretty symmetrical to me. Each hull is a...

Re: New designs: pontoon catamarans

I agree the new design looks awesome. I look forward to seeing the longer versions. I'd be interested to hear your opinion of fitting the boat with a tow bar over the outboard and using it to pull skiers. In your opinion would the engine have enough HP to do this with enough zip to make it enjoyable...

Re: XF20 with rear mounted tower

Holy moly, I didn't realize the tower telescoped on that one. I like that, I guess it isn't cheaper to build your own boat eh? Oh well, it may not be cheaper, but it will sure be more fun.

Did Ken Owens do a build thread on his boat?

Re: XF20 with rear mounted tower

Yes, try to install it further forward. If installed all the way in the back, the trim will be bad and draft will increase. This is good news. On the boat pictured, there is not very much room between the rocket launchers at the back of the seat and the rear of the boat. When rods are in the holder...

XF20 with rear mounted tower

Does anyone see a problem with placing a driving tower near the rear of the XF20? I was recently fishing on the skiff shown below, and I really liked the layout of the boat. Lots of fishing room up front (great for a family), and really good visibility on the tower. I've seen the blue XF20 on here w...

Re: Ski / Wake Board Boat

Yep, I saw that and it is probably the closest to a wake board type boat, but the stern drive and outboard scares me when skiers are in the water. You have to be on your A game all the time and make sure you have it in neutral when skiers enter or leave the boat. These are things you should do with ...

Ski / Wake Board Boat

Is there a design which can be modified to be a good ski boat? Inboard engine, lots of seating in the bow, with room for a ski tower, swim platform at the rear etc. I've always wanted one of these boats to take the kids out skiing and cruising.

Any Plans for a Large Sea Cat Sport Fish

Has there ever been any request for a large blue water sea cat for fishing? Maybe something in the size range of the Carolina Sport Fish 23 or 25? I have long been fascinated by these boats. They seem to be able to run pretty quick in big seas and even faster in flat seas. Any of the owners I have s...
