Not sure why they are bad luck....
Wasn’t it something to do with bananas on ships in them olden days caused the other fruit to rot and people got scurvy?

Re: Center Console Placement ...

Think about what you just typed as the LCG moves back you want to offset that by moving the console forward to offset that. This will keep it in the LCG in the center of the boat. Yes thanks I did wonder about that after I typed it. Do you think the 44% is something that can just be done on land wi...

Re: Center Console Placement ...

TomTom to follow up on what Jacques is saying, that is for a light weight 90HP 2 stroke motor. Since I believe you have a heavier 4 stroke 115 or 125 HP motor, start at 44% forward from the transom. You will also be going faster than Jacques calculated speed of 25mph so add a percent for every 5 mp...

Re: Found water under the cockpit deck

Capt UB, Thank you for sharing your experiences and images with the water infiltration and foam. This is an important topic to explore. On the FS 18, I foamed the center section under the sealed deck and the pressure increased so much as the temperature went up that the deck raised 3/8ths of an inc...

Re: Skoota without plywood

Hey Fall Guy - sorry to hear about your back. Nothing more painful than a bad back.

Was wondering out of interest why you went for the foam core option?

Resale value? Weight? Looks?

From memory, I designed the C19 for a speed of 25 mph and did put the LCG around 42% of the waterline
As I have stretched the hull, if I measure 42% of the waterline length going fwds will this give me a ballpark to start out at?

Re: Center Console Placement ...

Though a smaller boat, FS 17, I found that moving I found that moving the console ahead on the deck 1' worked better for me. Usually had 2 people over 500lbs total on board. It worked out well. Rover1 Did you move it based on the plans or had you launched the boat and then Later decided rob change ...

there was some gaps between the deck and tops of the ribs and stringers....

Re: Found water under the cockpit deck

Could you tilt the boat on one side and up slightly and successively fill one compartment and see if it trickles into the next? I know it might be meaningless at this stage... but it will help you find out if water can get over one frame between the frame and sole and into the next. I did this with ...
