Re: Anyone Fishing?

At 25 - 30 kts the depth finder will only confirm that yes, we are aground. 8) When you find yourself stuck on a mud bank in croc country :help: , a jack plate, some buddies to rock the boat, and 250 horses become your best friends! Been seriously stuck on three occasions on an out-going tide...

Re: Anyone Fishing?

I thought some here might like to see where I have been fishing lately. So here's a quick run down the McArthur River from the boat ramp near Boroloola in the Northern Territory to the mouth. The river is shallow but generally navigable in most tides. In the video we were mostly running in little mo...

Jeff Yes Jeff, there’s no doubt about it - I’m good! :D I only have to tow the boat 1200 miles to look that good! Just don’t talk to my physiotherapist. I took him barra fishing in the beautiful Hinchinbrook Channel north of Townsville a ...

Re: Anyone Fishing?

Here's another video from our recent trip to the McArthur River in the NT. Its the biggest fish boated on the trip and gave my mate Listy a new 95 cm PB barra.

Re: Yet another "scaled CS25?" thread

Crister, I haven't read this thread for a while, but now I am going to play "devil's advocate" and ask, "Have you really thought this through"? Obviously I have no idea of your personal circumstances, but when I read, "I currently have a 15 foot open boat powered by a 30HP outboard" , I got to think...

Re: ST21 Hybrid Powered "SKINNYDIP" Noosa Australia

My bow eye is a very solid bit of metal - 3/8”(?). On my boat there are 27 layers of 12 oz biax tape/cloth where the bow eye U-bolt passes through the hull, which is built up to about 2” thick at that point. By running a cargo sling through the eye bolt, the load is spread across the bow with the bo...

Re: ST21 Hybrid Powered "SKINNYDIP" Noosa Australia

Michael, will SkinnyDip have a bow eye?

I lift my boat by running a circle cargo sling through the bow eye then up either side of the bow - then hooking each loop into the hook of an endless chain. Ditto for the heavy U-bolts either side of the transom.

Re: Road train

Are all the roads two lane like that? I don’t recall ever seeing an expressway (divided 4lanes or more) outside a metro area in any Aussie video. Yup, 90% of them are just two lanes - and that is a good road because that truck is carting ore from a mine to a port. Rigs like that can be quite intimi...

Road trains and other hazards!

I was looking through some videos from my April fishing trip to the Northern Territory when I spotted this, and thought you might find it interesting. What is it that they say - "Everything is bigger in Texas"? Well not in the case of tractor/trailers. What do you guys call them, "18 wheelers"? We c...
