Re: ST21 Hybrid Powered "SKINNYDIP" Noosa Australia

Hi GB,

Been lurking on the site and still following your build, among all the others. Great going :D. and sorry for the setbacks.

Finally got Penny on the trailer and hauled from the (now sold) cottage to my house. Will get photos going at some point.

Re: Airless spray vs roller vs air spray for Primer

Hi TomTom,

Like Narfi, I sprayed S3 HBP on Penny with a HVLP...no issue whatsoever.

Re: Forgot to sand between putty layers :/

Hi Stachu,

"forgot" happened to me as well. Sand it off. S3 Quick Fair states so on their directions and I was witness to it
Layer wont bond otherwise. Not sure how I missed sanding - luckily it was a smallish area on hull below the rub rail.

Re: Outboard bolt patterns?

Hi GuyP I had the same issue for my 9.9 Mercury Pro Kicker during the build. I did contact Mercury and they supplied me with a detailed drawing PDF of that particular outboard showing mounting holes and pretty well all dimensions. They wanted the Serial Number / name / dealer where I bought etc firs...

Re: Eric's C21

Hi Eric, So sorry to hear about this. Having been self-employed for many years fabricating engineering scale models, finding clients was the most exhausting and difficult aspect next to quoting a cost - and practically zip vacation time in 12 years. On the up-side, there was no better satisfaction o...

Hi harbormaster 18,

Not sure about your question ? All the dimensions are there. Can you explain better or maybe include a sketch ?

Re: Woods Skoota 32DM

I feel your pain; it is the absolute gut wrenching debilitating worst kind. Got to the ER and vomited while getting registered. The RN was eating popcorn - a smell which makes me gag to start with. Best part was the sedative while being x-ray scanned and when it finally passed. I could feel it swish...

Re: knottyBuoyz III The TW28 Project

Hi Rick :D Another stint serving the public and the man ? Boat soon - great news. I'm sitting here in my cube answering emails and dealing with Navy stuff galore, the boat is still wrapped up and moving it home from the cottage this spring I hope. Lots of house renos so boat work will be almost nil ...

Correct, it does have to be pretty but avoid anything your fingertips can feel. Any small ridges will show thru. I have a few and they bother me

Re: Can anyone think of a build that ended with gray paint?

Hi Jwhitakeriii,

My boat HMD19 Penny (page 4 in Builders section) is painted with Pettit EasyPoxy Seattle grey with white topside (painted with Monstaliner); it has a cabin however but same colour scheme. The grey is similar to the S3 high build primer.
