Re: Xf20

Correct, it does have to be pretty but avoid anything your fingertips can feel. Any small ridges will show thru. I have a few and they bother me

Re: Can anyone think of a build that ended with gray paint?

Hi Jwhitakeriii,

My boat HMD19 Penny (page 4 in Builders section) is painted with Pettit EasyPoxy Seattle grey with white topside (painted with Monstaliner); it has a cabin however but same colour scheme. The grey is similar to the S3 high build primer.

Re: It begins: C1.9

Looking great cracked_ribs, sure taking shape :D

FYI, cyanoacrylate (super glue) is affected by humidity. Keep your opened bottle in the fridge to make it last; they are not cheap

Re: It begins: C1.9

Hi cracked_ribs, Consider styrene sheets for your model ? I built mine out of that - same material as those plastic scale kits. It comes in sheets and in thicknesses from a few thou up to 1/4". Super easy to cut, glue and finish. Well stocked hobby shops should have those but commercial plastic shop...

Re: Narfi's FS17 - Build Thread

Hi guys, When I had to clean up fillets prior to spraying Monstaliner, I used a rotary rasp chucked in a drill. These worked like a champ especially in tight corners. It left a semi smooth surface with enough teeth for the coating. That is the only tool I used after trying what you guys are. You get...

Re: HMD 19 Fuel Tank problems

Maybe the Forum should have a permanent fuel system "how-to" and 'do's & don'ts". Just a thought for safety concerns which I think is a bit fuzzy.

Re: HMD 19 Fuel Tank problems

Hi Doug N, Wow, something to think about :( fuel problems are no fun :help: My gas tank is a custom aluminum from Atlantic Coastal - Speedy Tanks, 12 gal, sitting in its own isolated centreline compartment and vented to the outside via two 5/8" hoses; openings located at the very bottom, port and st...
