Re: GV13 Garvey 13 May 2017

You are right about the look of the hydrofoil. When I completed my boat I was so far over budget I was looking for easy solutions. I was lucky enough to find a 30 horse electric start+ remote motor that weighed 114lbs. I was I think seven pounds over. I think the Garvey takes weight better. You did ...

Re: GV13 Garvey 13 May 2017

Beautiful boat. I had porpoising issues with my rb12, and one of the other guys suggested a hydrofoil. I'm sorry I didn't see your post sooner, this would have been much cheaper and easier and it did the job for me. I didn't use this particular brand but I think you get the idea. Absolutely stunning. Great job. I hope you got it inside before the storm hit. We got hammered pretty good here in Sarasota.

Re: D15 Completed

The boat looks terrific. It looks better than factory. This is the first I've heard of Tiny Tach. I'm going to try to use one on my boat. I may be able to improve my gas mileage with a different prop. This is an example of why these forums are so useful. The nonskid on that boat looks premium. Jeff

Boat cover, outboard

Not sure if this is the forum to post this stuff, but I got a custom made boat cover for my rb12 for $350 from Better Boat Covers in Bradenton, Fl. http://betterboatcovers.com/ He measured the boat in person, which I understand would be impossible for most on this forum, but on the other hand, every...

Re: RB12, 12/3/2015, jwassdo

When out on the Intracoastal yesterday in Sarasota in a small to moderate chop. With about 310 pounds of human ballast the boat did about 28 miles per hour wide open throttle. There's a big difference with flatter water. I don't have rpm data, I'm not sure what other information I could provide. The...

Re: RB12, 12/3/2015, jwassdo

Jacques, I agree. I don't think I need to go any faster than 25 to 30, on a calm water with no other boats around. I took it out today and with the hydroplane fins it was like riding on rails. Tremendous improvement. The boat is amazingly stable at speed. I think this is a good time to thank you for...

Re: RB12, 12/3/2015, jwassdo

I'm not exactly high tech when it comes to that stuff, but by my cell phone, with two people, the boat did about 28 miles per hour. I know I topped 30 by myself. I found a 109lb 30 horse with electric start and remote controls. I see that the extra five horse were unnecessary, but the extra weight d...
