Re: MF14 - Minnesota

You must have great restraint at not using too much epoxy. That board must be light weight for you to get it overhead like that! Clever storage solution!

Re: MF14 - Minnesota

This guy makes custom covers that are out of this world. He's local for me which is a big advantage but if you stayed with the plans, you can probably send him the plans and he can do something for you. I brought him my rb12 in person and he created a work of art but you may want to call him and see...

I bought a motor from this guy. He's in the Tampa/St. Pete area. I had a good experience.

Re: sailboat under bridges?

If you have pictures of that process I would be most appreciative. I may take you up on that demonstration offer sometime (thanks!) But for now it helps me to know that process is feasible on that boat. I like the looks of the otter the best, then the c13, then the cat ketch. But terms of versatilit...

Re: sailboat under bridges?

I love the CR13, but it has a stayed rig. I'm worried it might be harder to adapt a tabernacle to it. BTW I currently winch up an aluminum jonboat onto the creek bank. It weighs over 350 with the motor. It's a real handful, but at least I know I can handle a bit more weight. But I struggle with it o...

Re: sailboat under bridges?

I want to be able to enjoy sailing for the sake of sailing in Sarasota Bay. I'm not really looking to get anywhere in particular. Just trying to catch bugs in my teeth every now and then. I won't be doing any racing but I definitely want it sail decently.

Re: sailboat under bridges?

Good suggestions! Michaelz, I'm just not sure about having to remove the motor on that ck17 when I want to sail. I would conceivably by myself when I make that changeover on the water. I'd be in the ICW when I made this change, there's a fair amount of boat traffic. I would much prefer an arrangemen...

Re: RB14 by Kyla and Dad

That boat is stunning. What an amazing job. I think the 14 is a bit better proportioned than the 12.

sailboat under bridges?

Hello, all. I am looking at a new sailing project but I need some advice on which boat I could build, with slight modifications to meet the following qualifications: I live on a tidal creek in Florida with about 20min of no-wake zone to traverse before I get to the intracoastal waterway. 1. Need a s...
