Re: Cvincent's PH18

Here are a couple pictures of my progress. Smoothing out every nook and cranny of the boat is a job that requires a lot of patience. I used my own mix of microballons and glass bubbles for the first round of fairing. For the next rounds of fairing I will be using quik fair. Last weekend we were able...

Your build is progressing very well. I love the custom touches to the hatches.

Re: FS-18 - "Bare Bones"

I had orange peel when rolling and tipping EMC. I had to wet sand and buff to get an acceptable finish. I plan to spray EMC with my 5 stage fuji turbine on my current build. I experimented with this and got very good results.

Re: Cvincent's PH18

Thank you guys. I started trimming the inwale yesterday. I know the kerfs look sloppy I did them freehand with a skill saw. My table saw is buried in a storage unit.

Re: Cvincent's PH18

I spent several hours each night this week building the rub rail and toe rail. I am pretty satisfied with how it turned out. I plan to use a vinyl rub rail with a stainless steel insert. http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/88547/IMG_0182.jpg http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/88547/IM...

Re: CAT 22 Question

The CT could be stretched to the size of a 26 calcutta would perform better and have a much higher tunnel.

If not possible I have not ruled out building the 22ft version.

Re: CAT 22 Question

Thanks for the suggestions guys, the Glen L catamarans are interesting. I am not a fan of the Glen L construction method requiring ring shank nails and screws, heavy framing, etc..

Re: CAT 22 Question

The skoota is a nice boat but does not fit my use. I want a lightweight, center console, open deck simple to build, easy to trailer planing cat that cruises efficiently around 30 mph. I would keep the boat light and install 2 90hp outboards. I am sure the 22ft design is very capable, but a 26ft vers...
