The reason for the 3 layers of the 6mm is that the 6mm is easy to bend and make a nice fluid curve. You need layers in order to offset the seams b/c it is obviously difficult to find strips of wood that are 18 feet long. I actually used 2 layers of 6mm for my rubrail and it worked out great. Think of it this way: What is faster, taking the step of mixing in a measured mixing cup or scraping and sanding uncured epoxy due to a mixing error? -Reid Reid is this a trick question? Piperdown, You are correct that 3 coats is ideal. After your first coat you will notice every little imperfection in the fairing process. It is up to you if you want to fix any issues at this point. Once satisfied you can continue with the other 2 coats. Most of our builders use the Yacht Primer by...

At one point there may have been collars with the pumps. However, the pumps are not metered pumps and if there is any air bubble in the tube when you pump then the ratio can be thrown off. I always encourage all of our customers to use the pumps as a convenient means of transferring resin and harden...
