Re: Crabby Patti2 C17

Looks really good to me. Just cut off the overflow, seal with resin and repeat in the next bay. Good to save the offcuts to be sealed into the next bay to save on waste. I found this to be one of the most fun parts of the build.

Re: Jeffs FS14 LS

Well, I hate to comment on how much I like your workmanship on the drift boat with all this talk of aging four legged workshop supervisors. I have a 14+ helper as well so totally get what you’re both talking about.

Re: Eric's C21

Nice idea with the foam, took ages to go around the double curvature parts in wood.

Re: SK14 expanding foam question

You’re probably finished by now but I pored mine in low temperatures with the shop heated and found that I didn’t get the expansion I was expecting. I used my propane space heater like a huge heat gun and warmed the hull to around 85 deg to avoid a cooler surface than air temperature and then kept t...

Re: Joe's P19 RE-LAUNCH

Wow, that sucks. Other than the big hole in it, the boat looks great. Like the others have said, fix it and it will just be another boating story.

Re: Jeffs FS14 LS

Hi Jeff, mine could do with being a little wider on the safe side of the fence to make it easier to clamp down. The motor on my Dewalt hangs out a fair way and sometimes interferes with the cut by catching on a clamp . It’s not a big deal, just annoying. I made it from an offcut so not much choice w...

Re: Jeffs FS14 LS

This probably doesn't matter in NH or VT but in MA when I register the boat I need to show I paid sales tax on the materials to avoid paying sales tax on the whole boat. The plywood(from Boulter) and the motor purchased locally are the main things I'm going to show for that. Interesting. When I reg...

Re: Jeffs FS14 LS

Hi Jeff, looking forward to following your build. You’re boat looks great by the way. I don’t know if you have ordered your ply yet but Goosebay Sawmill and Lumber is a marine lumber yard in Concord NH and stocks Meranti and Okoumi. It’s closer to you and you won’t have any Massachusetts sales tax t...
