Hydrofoil Installation

Hi Everyone, I am thinking about installing a hydrofoil on my Mercury 9.9hp motor on my GV10 to help with the performance. I would be interested in anyone's experience or opinion on this but in particular if anyone has used the SE Sport Clip or SE Sport 200? I am trying to avoid drilling the cavitat...

Re: GV10 Sept 2018 “Offcuts" Splashed

So after the last outing where both my wife and I felt like we were cooked in the lovely New Hampshire sun (that's only here for a couple of months a year) :D. I decided to fit a removable Bimini top to give a little shade. I've never been a fan of Bimini's but its so easy to take off and I quite li...

Re: GV10 Stop and Start Project

Welding light gauge aluminum is very difficult and the weld is almost never any where near as strong as the parent metal. That’s exactly why airplanes are riveted even though welding is quicker and cheaper and most light weight aluminum boats are a mixture of rivets and weld. Having said all that, i...

Re: GV10 Buoyancy Calculations

Thanks everyone for the help. I have the panels in now and have added them under the front seat as I also have the trolling battery in the front. Feels good having all that foam around as she does roll around in the surf a bit :D https://forums.bateau2.com/app.php/gallery/image/5109/medium https://f...

Dude, you have to have the tiller extension so you can scream along while casually standing up. 8)

Re: GV10 Sept 2018 “Offcuts" Splashed

After a slow start to the boating season this year I have finally completed the flotation panels and have them installed. Thanks to everyone that double checked my math. If the sums are correct I should have positive buoyancy. https://forums.bateau2.com/app.php/gallery/image/5109/medium https://foru...

Re: OD18 - NH

Ok I have waited long enough. What is happening with this work of art :D :D I will consider myself suitably chastised for being absent. :D My excuse is that I managed to tear my Achilles tendon in my left leg. I'm not exactly sure how I did this, it may have been at work or maybe not. All I will sa...

Re: Eric's C21

Hi Eric, so sorry to hear of your continued problems. It’s very hard to find anything motivational to say that doesn’t sound pathetic in these circumstances. The one true thing I can say is that you have made a lot of friends on this forum and we’re keen to keep in touch. I am sure you’re going to b...
