Re: FS14_LS - CSotelo - Brazil

The first board has 3 coats of white, looks gray in the shades. The others has 4 or 5 coats

I can mix some black in it to make it gray, it accepts water based tints.

Thanks for the hints!

Re: FS14_LS - CSotelo - Brazil

Thanks guys! I flipped the boat, masked, did some fairing and primed the decks. https://i.imgur.com/ccS8TMF.jpg https://i.imgur.com/rS7LXv1.jpg After my experience with this paint, I don´t think will be a good idea mix silica or anti-skid additive on it. I´m testing a rubberized paint used in car´s ...

Hi, Sorry for your lost, it will be a great tribute to your sister. You can lift the boat with hydraulic jack, support it with temporary frames and slide the trailer understand it easily, I did it to remove a broken trailer from a 28 footer. After saw you using bed liner I'm considering use it too. ...

Re: Eric's C21

Hey Eric,

Nice and clean job on inside!

After glass, it will become stiffer than now, but I needed some straps to close the hull opening before glue frames.

Re: FS14_LS - CSotelo - Brazil

Hello, I got a new soft brush, put the paint tray in cold water, painted in shades in a 20° C morning. Fells like It laid almost as expected leaving small brush marks, I think I can live with them. Cooler temp helped a lot. By now I´ll flip the boat and continue the job. In two month I expect ...

Re: GP 21 Plywood in Brazil and Change the layout

Hi,

I had to use a heavier tape because was the only one available here in Brazil. It consumed more resin to wet out and fairing compound to level it.

If you want to use the lighter one (200g) I think you need to wait Jacques respond if it´s possible.

Re: FS14_LS - CSotelo - Brazil

Hey guys, I think I finished the wet sanding, at least I´m satisfied with the results. I´m monitoring the weather and will take a time to have cool mornings here, the lowest temp after the dew dry is 23°. Can I left the paint in the fridge overnight (about 5°) ? Or put the reducer in the freezer and...

Hello, Yesterday, 24h after painting, I was able to scratch the paint with my nails. So l left the boat in the sun for about 4 hours and now it´s really hard. I started to wet sand the bow and sides and for my surprise is was able to remove all the mess I did before! It´s a PITA job but works like b...
