Re: Fuel Fun

Gas is a little more touchy but I have decanted a lot of diesel over the years. Not too tough to get a 99% recovery rate. What do people do with old gas been in a tank a loonng time? I live in Florida.....I refill the boat every two weeks :). With the exception of the next 5 i think it is going to ...

Re: Fuel Fun

Late to put in advice, sorry. When I drain a fuel tank, I remove the hose from the engine and feed the hose into a bucket via the transom drain plug. Lowest and best drain point in a typical boat. That is sound advice I can only dispose of ten gallons a day......so had to have a way of cutting it o...

Re: Fuel Fun

So you have a lose fitting in the tank from the siphon hose  If so I am not sure what harm it will cause. Yup that's the issue.....reached out to the manufacturer and it is a copper fitting, not brass which I think is better from a stability standpoint but still not sure what impacts would be ...

Re: Fuel Fun

So I have never claimed to be a smart man.....I figured out how to siphon the gas and was well on my way to getting this tank ready to go for today but a new problem. I either got wrapped around something or a crazy strong vacuum pull but the brass fitting at the end of my siphon hose came off in th...

Re: Fuel Fun

So for anyone facing this fun the gauge is the way to go.....easy and wide access. No nuts and they are really not screwed down all that hard

Re: Fuel Fun

Yes the "circle thing with screws " should be your fuel gauge. The other 90 coming off the tank with a the 1/2" plug should be another access point. You could try opening that and using a jump. Or you could pump it all out with the primer bulb. Does the gauge have nuts on the backside and if so how...

Re: Fuel Fun

Well it won't let me post pictures on this forum but there is a 1/2 inch and cap screwed into a 90 coming out of the tank and there is a 3 inches circle thing held in by screws that has wires(assuming the gauge data out)

Fuel Fun

So there was this hurricane and my boat was outside and worried some water got in the tank. I have a 60 gallon tank that is about half full and tried to snake a standard siphon down there....it didn't work I don't think it would go around the 90. How does one usually do this, I pictured the tank acc...

Re: September Sally

So we made it....just got power back earlier this weekend but still waiting on cell and internet back at the house. Lost a good bit of the fence but getting the boat in and out of the yard should be easier for a while. If anyone else in the Pensacola area needs anything let me know still lots of fol...
