Re: Outboard placement

I use a central steerable outboard on my folding powercat designs, Skoota 20 and 24. That way there are no oil sump problems when the hulls (and thus engines) rotate for trailering. My Skoota 18 is small enough that a single outboard is enough and twin outboards mean twin fuel tanks, batteries etc ...

Skoota without upper structure

Richard (or anyone else), Can the Skoota 20 or 24 be built without an upper structure? I'm looking (actually looking for my brother) for an open boat similar to: http://derickreynolds.co.uk/modelB.htm I was on an email exchange with Derick back in 20172018 and he was retiring and no longer building ...

Re: Outboard placement

Thank you for the reply. This is the design with twins inboard of the hulls: http://asia-marine.net/sale/brokerage/p ... -29-amch12

It does seem inefficient but it's kind of nice not having to work around the outboards.

Outboard placement

I'm still up in the air between building and buying. I want a displacement or semi displacement power cat. I have been studying for sometime and curious what the thought process is between placing the outboards centered in the rear of each hull, cheating them to the center but still on the rear of t...

Re: Skoota without plywood

I'm blessed in many ways but one of them is I live near the coast and on a large lake that has locks to a river that leads to the ocean. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinopolis_Dam I have a a couple of large buildings about 30 miles from launch but I have a friend with a large building not being use...

Skoota without plywood

I read on one of the threads that some of the Skoota's were designed for foam and some for plywood. How do I know which models designs are available as foam or plywood? Is anyone building with plastic honeycomb? I think someone posted (Fallguy maybe?) was using plascore for upper structure but not h...

Re: E-Cat 24

Well checking in to see if there are any E-Cat 24 builds yet?? This still speaks to me. I wish it were a little more power and a little faster. I'd like to ideally reach 25 kts but I could live with 20. I've thought about building a Woods but just with a deck to get a little more speed but I like t...
