Re: Bob's FS18

Your boat is really looking nice. Great console design with plenty of storage and seating. I look forward to seeing it in the water.

Re: Double Ender Grand Canyon Dory

Got a few things done over the last couple of weeks. The biggest job was putting down 2 layers of 17 oz biax on the bottom and chines. Since then I have been fairing, priming, and got the gunwales on the outside. Still working on finishing up the bottom and side fairing and then ready to flip uprigh...

Re: 1/4 Scale Panga 22 Test

I had this sitting around and decided to start working on it again. The lines on this boat are really pleasing. Filled the zip tie holes, smoothed everything out, and layed down some 6 oz cloth. I will fair it out and go all in with a nice paint job. Still like the idea of a table cooler.

Re: Double Ender Grand Canyon Dory

Flipped her over, filled the seams, and rounded over the edges. Then applied 10 oz cloth to the sides and two layers of 12 oz biax to the chines, bow, and stern. Will apply two layers of 17 oz biax to the bottom next and then fair the exterior.

Re: FS18 Minimalistic

Starting to get close to prepping the FS18 for paint with the weather starting to change soon. I put together a poling platform prototype I intend to construct from marine ply and glue down to the deck. Also picked up a 21 feet fiberglass push pole from "Stiffy" a few weeks back that looks like it c...

Re: Double Ender Grand Canyon Dory

Hi VT Jeff, I have not checked in for a bit. The SUP is 30 pounds and 14 feet long. Works well and very stable. Lava Falls sounds like a dream right now but I will eventually get there and experience that part of the canyon. I installed all of the bulkheads and fiberglassed them in with 12 oz biax t...

Re: Double Ender Grand Canyon Dory

Hi Eric, The lamination schedule is the same for the interior and exterior bottom (two layers of 17 oz biax 7 inches up the sides and two layers of 12 oz biax at the chine). The laminated stern post has been installed and the 6 bulkheads are ready to be tacked up this week. The bulkheads will be tap...

Re: Boat building shed

I have been working on my future boat shop for the last two years and probably have two more to go before it is done. Never thought it would take so long but the work adds up. It is 20x40 with 12 feet ceiling. Layed down a bed of gravel for the foundation. The rear section will eventually be enclose...
