Polishing EMC Quantum

Literature says imperfections/bugs can be polished out of of this paint after 48 hrs but does not detail how to polish. I expect using a orbital polisher/buffer and some type of compound. Any advice will be appreciated.

Overall I’m pretty impressed with this paint.

Re: FS19 (-5%) in GA

Salty, I will have a couple small areas I need to touch up where second coat was too thin. Can I just run the roller over them with a thin coat the next time I’m painting another section? This stuff is expensive but that quart of topcoat plus activator and reducer will do 2 coats plus on the entire ...

Re: FS19 (-5%) in GA

Topcoat going on! One coat EMC Quantum above spray rails. I believe this stuff is going to work out nicely. 8oz topcoat + 4oz activator + 4oz brushing/rolling reducer covered nicely above spray rails including transom. That was even with me applying too heavily at first on one side. Wasn’t a big dea...

Re: LM18 in Perry, GA

What type non-skid did you use? An additive or pre-mix, brand? I have not decided what I’ll use but looking at System 3 additive an WR-LPU.

Re: FS17 Central FL Build - 1st Timer

Not sure if molds come in the kits. Kit descriptions don’t specify. Browndog’s FS19 was a kit but can’t tell in his pics and narrative if molds were included. A kit builder will respond soon.

Re: FS17 Central FL Build - 1st Timer

To your question about placement of strongback cross braces: I’d mark the station locations on both sides of the 14’ long strong back and install the cross braces square to the sides and in places that won’t interfere with the uprights you will install to hold the molds/frames square.

Re: FS17 Central FL Build - 1st Timer

Welcome to the forum. I started an FS19 in February after studying the plans and builders threads on the forum. I’m 210 hours into mine and ready to put finished topcoat on hull exterior and flip. Looking at your questions, all the molds should be perpendicular to the strongback with exception of th...

Re: Hull support after flip?

Stop in sometime. We will be there next two days. FS19 build is at home base east of ATL. Hope you did not get bogged down in any hydrilla. That stuff has taken off in last year.

Re: FS19 Scaled Down 5% - Jacques Question

Jacques, Thanks for your input. I will not need to pull 2 skiers and will have 3 adults in boat max plus skier while skiing so 115 will probably be overkill. We had a 90 on an old style Boston Whaler Montauk 17 that worked well for our ski purposes. If my laminations are conservative and I stick to ...

Re: Hull support after flip?

Chuck you are correct 19 is scaled up 14%. I will do something similar to your support method. Thanks
