epoxy...primer....paint....help!

Hi everyone, I just recently completed a transom replacement on a SeaRay Laguna. I accessed the transom by removing the splashwell in the back of the boat. I reattached the splashwell and put 2 layers of 1708 with epoxy over it followed by some fairing with quickfair. Now in need to prime and paint ...

Re: Sea Ray Laguna transom

Okay so my plan is to go back with Coosa. I was going to put 2 layers of 3/4 sandwiched to make 1-1/2 and then tabbing 3 layers of 12 oz on the inside and outside of the stringers and 3 layers at the bottom of the hull. The visa will be epoxied to the outer skin as well. Should I put anything other ...

Re: Sea Ray Laguna transom

Thanks again for your input Tom Can you explain what you mean by tabbing with tape 3 layers inside and outside? Should the layers get wider each time. Do you mean inside and outside of the stringer? Fuzz I like the idea of working from outside but I really want to be sure I tab the core into the str...

Re: Sea Ray Laguna transom

Thanks for the welcome and input. I realized after I posted this that it more likely belonged in the boat repair forum, so if it is possible to relocate it there I would appreciate it. Tom, As far as I can tell, they are relying on the tabbing to the stringers, which are tall plywood ( maybe 18") an...

Re: Sea Ray Laguna transom

I feel like this may be posted in the wrong forum. Is there a way to have this moved.

Thanks

Sea Ray Laguna transom

Hi everyone I am looking for advice on how to proceed with repairing the transom on my 88' Sea Ray Laguna. I found recently that one the bolts that holds the outboard was sinking into the fiberglass. After some exploratory fiberglass removal, I found that the top 1-1/2 inch of the core is rotten. Th...
