Re: Webbcraft 22' Boat rebuild

I know... I know another boat project that has died on the vines. However, not dead just life really got in the way but I'm finally able to spend time on it again. Maybe I just found its name "Lazarus". Anyway, I was able to get all my templates laid out for the deck. I see why they had the bow rais...

Ally tanks and foam are a recipe for ozidation and failure.

Google it.

If you want me to find the relevant article; I'll be freeer in a day.
Thanks Fallguy no need I will keep that area open for air to flow. Also, I will put back the drains from the locker and tank back to factory.

Re: Webbcraft 22' Boat rebuild

I think I have already come to terms with this but what would be an equivalent outboard to replace the current 350/alpha 1 io? I'm fairly certain the cost difference is going to be too high for this boat but wanted to do my due diligence before I started putting the transom back.

Re: Webbcraft 22' Boat rebuild

The ski locker will be completely sealed. I figured that was probably the best policy on putting this thing back together. No sense cutting corners...

For the gas tank am I ok to foam it in? Its aluminium and I would like to seal it off as well except for an access panel for sender unit.

Re: Webbcraft 22' Boat rebuild

instead of cutting 1/4 ply coating in resin and then taping I could just buy some cheap boards cut to size for the gas tank platform and glue down. I may just go back with wood though. You're too kind. She has come a long way but has a long way to go. I have two more good months then the weather is ...

Re: Webbcraft 22' Boat rebuild

So life got in the way but I finally found some time in the boat. I think I can put the grinder down now for a while which will be nice. I'm going to get some insulation boards today to start working on my templates for the deck and transom. Couple of questions. From the factory it had drains from t...

Re: Webbcraft 22' Boat rebuild

though I haven't posted any updates in awhile I have been working. I think I'm coming to an end of the grinding. Also, I haven't checked yet but I think the keel has a strip of wood that needs to come out. Next time in the boat I'll do a little exploratory cut to see but I'm sure it's soaked and wil...

Re: Webbcraft 22' Boat rebuild

I guess these old boat were poly based. I know there a lot of folks that still use poly because of cost but man after all the work it takes to bring these back I'd rather not be penny wise but pound foolish. Hopefully, I'll get some time this weekend to finish the sanding and move on to putting her ...

Re: Webbcraft 22' Boat rebuild

Well I guess this is what progress looks like... I must have removed 500 lbs of wet foam. I was able to remove it from the stringers too with a couple of cutouts. https://forums.bateau2.com/app.php/gallery/image/3484/medium Found a few more spots that had rotten wood. Also, the strakes have wood enc...
