LM18 8/12/2020 Buffardi

T minus 4 days to launch the boat at final destination Marco Island. I decided to stretch wrap the front of the boat seats and motor from road rash for its 24 hour journey from Wisconsin to Florida. Just got on the road. Sunday night or Monday I’m picking up a poling platform from a guy in Naples. I...

Re: Lm18 madison wi

The tabs are Smart tabs. They have +3 settings and -3 settings, if that doesn’t work you can drop shock size. Right now it is in the middle. It rained yesterday and I was to busy to play with it today. I did snap some pics looking back at the motor for fall guy.

Re: LM18 in Perry, GA

wow I'm amazed at how high you can run the motor. You must be about 2 inches above the trim plate. Makes me think I should move up one more hole. I'm about 1/2 inch above.
thanks for the video.

Re: Lm18 madison wi

Did some testing yesterday. The steering is a huge upgrade, makes driving the boat fun. However when standing I have to be careful when running wakes and always wear the safety cord as I almost got thrown out of the boat with the bow down force of the smart tabs. The smart tabs have too much pressur...

Re: Lm18 madison wi

I didn't have time to run it much. The height of the console is perfect. it seemed to run great but the lake was crazy for the 4th, so I could get good stats. I'm planning on take it out tonight to get a good run in without the 1-3 foot waves. Then I'll report a back.

Re: FS19 (-5%) in GA

What are you thinking for non- skid? I went white kiwi grip with the same orca as my base. I love the texture but it is impossible to keep clean. Next time I would do a gray. Also, I went aggressive texture I would tone it down and go with a medium texture, the stuff is grippy as it is. Food for tho...

Re: Found water under the cockpit deck

Thanks for all the work Capt UB. I think on the LM you had the right Idea. Here is my take. 1. Use foam noddles, foam block, or is you still want to use 2 part, get heavy plastic bags and pour the foam into them, so that the foam can never absorb water. I rebuilt a boat from the early 80's that had ...

Re: Lm18 madison wi

The black rigging tube contains the engine control cables, fuel line, shifter and throttle, and the simrad engine control wire. To the the steering I had to have a separate route. The steering line are fixed and only go up and down with the trim of the motor. I couldn't find a good way to exit from ...

Re: Lm18 madison wi

I’ve been busy. Console formed primed and painted. Got the controls in the the steering bled. Now I just have to reword everything. Also put on the smart tabs while the paint was drying.
