Re: Panga 20 Build

Doesn't seem like it will hurt anything to tab from the rub rail to the inwale with a tab as wide as the cleat at the top of the frame. That will create some tension to hold things more soundly. Also, I suppose a layer on the bottom of the deck will act the same as a tab once glued to the cleats, ru...

Re: C19 in Richmond, VA

Thanks, Gents!

Re: C19 in Richmond, VA

A few spots sanded through. Ordered paint for the bottom, but shipping was delayed for a week, and will arrive while we're out of town. Its been a good opportunity fill a few spots with Awl Fair, and sand more. Skimmed lightly and sanded more which got rid of most of the guide powder seen in the pic...

I used the festool paper, then used the purple 3m. Purple 3m lasted longer. Still not as long as it should. The longer you wait to sand the primer, the harder it gets.
Amazon Minion delivered sandpaper on Sunday, it's blue, not purple, but does hold up better than red...

Exactly what I have planned. (Insert face palm)
Go over it with a different primer. All I'm gonna say.

Re: Systems 3 primer

Dan, how did you wind up dealing with the spots where sanded through?

Spot prime with S3? If so, how was sanding them afterwards? Was there enough material on the spot to sand?

Sanding System 3 Yacht Primer

3 coats rolled on back to back to back, now a week ago. Orbital sanding with 3M Blue hookit 220 sheets, and they're not lasting long. 2 square feet or so. Following up block sanding with 320, and clogging heavily. I've got some 3M purple cubitron on the way, anxious to see how that behaves, but over...
