Re: FS13 - Bootje

How do you pronounce 'bootje'? Is it "boot-jay"? or "booge"? or something else? My brain insists on stopping to ponder this each time I cross this thread.

Thanks.

Re: fs 13

Yeesh. 15-18 will probably feel like 50 in that boat. - like riding a go-cart on the water. I only cruise my "big" boat at about 20 and that's plenty for me. Might take me a while to work up the nerve to plane her. I'll have to think about that. Still think I want to build it. Thanks for the quick r...

Re: fs 13

So it sounds like it will take a five to make her plane. What kind of speeds would you expect on plane?

Didn't I read that there was a video of the prototype posted somewhere? I yhink I did but I can't remember where and can't find the link.

Thanks.

Re: fs 13

What kind of speeds is this going to do with say, a 2hp or so outboard? And how tender will it be above hull speed?

I've been wanting to build again but unable to find a design that pulled me in. This might be it.

Re: One man river boat

Thanks, RR. At some point after this post, I found the name, but never talked the owner out of it.

I do finally have "plans" for a similar boat that I still intend to build. Though I'm trying to decide whether to build it as a two man.

Re: Can I use a different Glue?

Not and get support here. These boats are specifically designed for epoxy. Besides, other glues would require chine logs because there would be no real mating surfaces at side joints. It would make an elegantly simple design look like a hack job. - and likely one that wouldn't last, possibly beyond ...

Re: Pulling tubers

I almost made a potato joke when I posted, but didn't know if anybody would appreciate it. :)

Thanks for the advice CL. I'll have to look up how to do the bridle.

Pulling tubers

My kids want me to pull them on tubes. I have a nice rock solid transom(rebuilt per advice here). How do I know a (whadayacallit) is sufficiently sized/graded to pull them safely? I haven't seen any yhat said they were specifically for pulling tubers or skiers? I know to drill and fill for installat...

Re: Wiring Question

What's a 'blue seas isolator' and why would you need one?
