I am still hung up on what to do with rubrails finish. I have the idea of running some quarter round to fill this angle. Or do you just round it off? You don’t want the quarter round, it’s one more thing to fail. Typically, quarter round is made of white pine. It’s not what you need under your rubr...

I think you might have cut the rigid backing strip a little short. The keyway that holds the flex on needs to almost touch the 90’ corner on both directions. About 1-1/2” short or less. Try pulling off the 4-5’ of the flex and add some scrap pieces of rigid backing. I’d try that before kerfing, that...

The 1X12 oak is suggested for the top inside layer of the transom aka “the clamping board”. Use the 3/4” plywood, it will work perfectly. Two layers of 1/2” or 3/8” will also work if it’s what you have on hand. When you get to the rigging stage, I would recommend using the metal bolt backing plates ...

Was at the fuel dock at John’s Pass years ago. Saw a guy put a gas nozzle into his rod holder instead of the fuel fill.
The bilge pump came on and started shooting gas overboard.
I got the heck out of there quickly, luckily nobody was injured...
