Looks like you have a pretty good bend in it , might be constricting water flow .

Richard you have seen my foam top , just use a long board to sand the edges and they come out nice.
I used 1 layer of 12 OZ each side and its plenty strong . I used ply inserts for hard points . There are pic's
on my thread if interested .
