D4 oars

Bill: I orginally made some oars for my D4 out of plywood and rake handles but they proved to be much too weak. I had no idea the pressure put on them. I bought two 6' aluminum ones for mine and they seem to work just fine. You can see them on the D5 site. Glad to see the little boat is progressing....

D4 bow

Jacques: I have a D4 and think I would like to have a bow section attached to the flat bow. Would I be offending some hydodynamics god if I built an extension on the front to give me a pointed bow? I am trying to keep down the spray when the waves get a little high or I row across the wind. Mine is ...

I plan to do some repair work to my D4 where I dropped something heavy on it in transit but I also want to modify it to provide some storage under the seats. I can see that having storage is a good idea. That was one thi...

Map

Thanks for the tips on where to fish. I had gotten a map from mapquest and was already excited by the amount of grass flats in the area. This should be a lot of fun.

Sea ya Saturday and, most likely Sunday also.

Still planning to attend

Plan to be there mid morning on Saturday. Glad to see there will be another D4. Mine has wheels on it so I can get it from the truck to the water & back. They come off while on the water. I built the rowing version but am looking at the possiblities of retro-fitting it with a rudder, leeboards and s...

Boat Insurance

In Florida, the trailer and boat are covered when attached to your insured vehicle but only for liability. If you loose them and they hit another car or go through a store window, the damage they do is covered. If the boat & trailer are damaged, there is no coverage.

Some homeowner´s policies...
