I noticed the cracks 3 weeks ago and dont appear to be spreading at this time. I think my mind is made up to sell the boat and start my fx build.

Sorry to say it, but those cracks appear to be from flexing (I would be 90% sure of that). If you fix the cracks, they will eventually come back unless the flexing is stopped (lots of work). Shine, what causes flexing cracks and how would you stop it. Sounds like its time to sell, I just hate loosi...

This is an El Pescador hull produced in Victoria, Texas. It is a tunnell hull for shallow running with a raised bow for slicing thru waves in deeper water. A very dry ride.

They are small cracks. You cannot see the crack unless the hull is wet. Thats how I discovered the crack, when the boat was in the water. I will need to take some pics of the cracks and send to you.
Is gelcoat a necessary component to a production hull? How does gelcoat apply?

I have a 1989 production flats hull that is starting to show signs of cracking in the gel coat. I had planned to flip it sand the old gelcoat fair, prime and paint the hull. Is this a method that will work or should the hull be re-gelled. I dont really understand the diffrence with gelcoating and pa...
