TX 18 EXTRA FUEL

I've recently fallen into a TX18 and due to the way the boat is equipped it has limited range. It has a 14 gallon tank and a 90HP Yamaha on it. Initially I thought about building a leaning post that had a 30 or 40 gallon tank in the bottom of it. Then I considered the boat is trim sensitive and thou...

Re: A Cracker Built GF18- Splashed 2-14-15

Awesome work Larry, really a beautiful GF18. I was a little concerned when I saw the engine size you were putting on that boat, running in our creek with a 50 mine has wound up under trees a couple of times cause it wouldn't turn the corner, I can sometimes milk a fast turn by dropping the throttle ...

Re: another XF 20 question

I would double check with Jaques but the 6566 should work fine for frames, you should probably stick with the 1088 for the hull sides, transom's and bottom. My GF18 is built like this and has worked fine for the 4 and a half years we've used her.

Re: High Thrust Motors on Tunnel Hulls

Before I built my GF18 I looked at a tunnel hull boat built by Marine Service in Port Lavaca. I believe they are out of business at this time. They built a boat that looked like a fiberglass version of a GF18 that had a tunnel on it. Many of those boats were rigged by the factory with 90HP Tohatsu's...

Re: T's GF12

Hey Tim, Happy Holidays to you too. The GF 12 needs to have the motor raised and perhaps a wedge. I had a small manual jackplate built for it that doesn't have enough height to get the job done, that plate also has some setback that isn't good for this setup. I recently bought a cherry picker to hol...
