Transom Question About My OD18

Jacques,

Okay, thanks. I don´t really like going fast either, I guess I am a scaredy-cat. About 25-30 mph is as fast as I want to go, but I want to do it with 4 or so people on board.

Thanks for the info. And I really like the boat! I haven´t gotten to use it nearly as much as I would ...

Transom Question About My OD18

Richard,

Thanks for the reassurance! My 30 hp motor just didn´t have the oomf to push around 3 or 4 grown men. I think the 70 hp will rectify the situation.

Charles

The motor is in good condition, but before I fork out the $850 for it, I would like to make certain that the transom on the OD18 will hold up to the weight of this older motor. It has done really well with the 30 ...

Self bailing?

Stripedbass,

Yes, the self-bailing feature does work. At least it does on my OD18. I was a little skeptical when I was building the boat, so I made my drain hole 1", so that I could put a standard plug in it, but I haven´t needed it yet. In retrospect, I should have gone ahead and made it a l...

OD18 Under sole conduit for control´s etc.

Podfather,

Check out my website. It shows the way I approached it. I used 3" pvc for the steering and throttle cables, and 1" from the console forward for the bow light and power up front. I used another (separate) 1" pvc from the bow compartment to the right quarter seat for a fuel line that...

The new site looks great! And I love the new layout for the message boards.

I did find one thing that you might consider changing: on the signup page where you click "go back" to edit your information, it clears everything, so you have to retype it all. No big deal, though.

Charles
