Re: SOBX Solo Flats Skiff SK14

I put the graphite on first, before the boot stripe or side painting. I usually just leave those in primer until the inside is complete.

Nice trout 8)

Re: Texas Jet Boat Fiberglass Repair

Topwater is correct. That is a water based primer and needs at least a week to dry before painting. It WILL NOT fully cure in 24 hours, not cured enough to paint anyway. I don't care what they say. I've probably used more of it than their website advisor.

Re: GF14 Butt Block Nesting

I wouldn't even use butt blocks at all. Just splice the panels together with a layer of 6" wide 12 oz. biax tape on each side. It will bend better and fairer, be just as strong, if not stronger, and eliminate those ugly inside lumps they cause.

Re: Jaysen's V12 -- 'Lil Bit' of everything fun

CL, if I decided to unchange my mind and continued with plan to finish outer hull all the way through paint I'd need to attach skeg now. Do you use the screws or just thickened glue and tape? Or am I over thinking this? Yes, I would attach the skeg after the hull is glassed. Glued and taped. No scr...

Should I pull them, lay inner hull tape, any inner hull fg, then tape the frames in? That would allow me to have one piece hull seams as well reduced "dumb ass does fiberglass" corners.
Yes. I always do it that way.

Re: P19 Fuel Tank

I need an answer, is there any problem with routing fill, air, and engine lines straight back through the frames with a filler cap on the transom instead of trying to bend them through the stringers and up a frame. None at all that I know of, unless there is a boat specific problem. Sounds like a g...

Re: SOBX Solo Flats Skiff SK14

Would something like a Rockwell Sonicrafter be a good choice for this?
Yes, it is the perfect tool for that, and lots of other things. Every boat shop need one, and mine ain't for sale
