Re: Pacific NW FL12 Build

I could be wrong in what I'm reading here between pee wee and fuzz, but you do have to lay a strip of fiberglass cloth
(called tape) on a fillet of epoxy and wood flour mix along the seams for strength, Period.

Re: Question regarding resin coating

If you have not yet done so, at the top of this page is a link named "How To's".
The Bateau wisdom is there.

Re: Wizard CNC Kit

A rough rule of thumb is that is that you can apply epoxy only to plywood panels and small pieces (cleats, for example) that will not require bending when fixing to the boat.

Re: Rocker in FS 12

Not much help maybe, but I did the exact opposite in my GV-11.
The 3/16" inch space was in the center of your level.
Filled it with glass scraps, coarse wood flour compound, faired smooth and quit.
I don't think a .22 would go through the bottom there.

Re: FS14 stringer length query.

I think starting from the bow 169+305+305+(2438-2089)=1128 but wait for an answer from the boss.
Also, can't see why you need that dimension? OK, maybe I do.
And JM will see this for certain if posted in Plans and Building - Small Boats.

Re: Canoe for hunting small waterways

Throw in cold weather clothing, expensive firearm, dog, decoys, etc., would cause me to choose the most stable canoe available. I did this this a long time ago in a "plastic" Coleman square stern Scanoe and did not dump it, but wouldn't have wanted anything less stable.
