Re: Rod Racks - To Tube or not to Tube

I recall someone using a wine bottle to flair the tube.
I just "emptied" out a wine bottle to try it tomorrow  I used a beer bottle today, wasn't big enough for a 2" tube, and the dr pepper bottle didn't have the rigidity to flare like I wanted it.

Re: Trim Tabs, bolt or screw?

Ok great, I'll screw them near the bottom, and probably the ones at the top as well. If they don't feel solid enough I may through-bolt the acuators at the top. Thanks

Re: Battery Setup / Placement

Can you get a 12 vdc for saltwater??
Looked in the Cabela's catalog last night, seemed like there were a number of the Minnkota Riptide motors available in both 12/24v with a lot of options as far as shaft length and mounting.

Re: Rod Racks - To Tube or not to Tube

If you use flyrods, I would definitely use something to protect the tips. I'm planning to use PVC tubes in mine. Slightly worried about the 3" rule though with the bulkheads... Andrew, I saw a few post where guys were using the grey tubes, heating the end and flaring it out so the eyes won't snag. W...

Re: Battery Setup / Placement

I'm planning on a 12v trolling motor, just to save weight/cost. I just don't plan to use one that often. CL I was planning on Lowrance GPS, LED navigation lights, Trim tabs and eventually a little stereo with 4 small speakers. Not sure if I would need a 2nd battery or not to power my accessories. No...

Trim Tabs, bolt or screw?

Quick question, when you mount Lencos do they bolt through the hull where you need access to tighten the nuts on the inside of the transom, or are they simply secured with SS screws? Just need to know whether or not to have my sole extend all the way to the transom...don't won't to put myself in a b...

Re: Battery Setup / Placement

hmmm i was afraid ya'll would say that about the amp draw. Makes perfect sense though. I'll plan to keep my starting battery in the stern and my trolling battery up front. Also both of you mentioned multiple batteries. Is it ok to have just ONE starting battery and ONE trolling battery? and Unlce D,...

Battery Setup / Placement

I broke down and ordered a custom fuel tank, so I've got it behind a false bulkhead in the bow. Tryin to plan out my power now. I plan to eventually add a trolling motor to my FS17, so I'll need another battery. Do most people put trollin battery in the bow and the starting/electrical accessories ba...

Re: Gas tank placement FS17 LS

It's goin in the stern. I can't make it work. The fill cap itself is 3 inches tall. Even with a lip on the deck it's to much.
