Re: SB18 Chainplate detail

What gauge of mylar would you suggest Evan? A keel shoe to screw the mylar down to?

Re: SB-18 rudder

Sorry I can't find the authoritative answer the designers gave but if remember correctly it is NACA0008.

Re: SB-18 rudder

Now I remember, I uploaded them to my gallery here. http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/14033/Winfoil_SB18_rudder.pdf The CB templates are also there in my gallery. The bulb keel strut I made based on the plans themselves. This is off topic but this is the router jig I made using the pattern ...

Re: SB-18 rudder

Fragi didn't I send you the foil patterns for the rudder? I made that based on an answer from Jacques or maybe Evan. If I did not and you want it, tell me and I'll send it to you. The is rather big 184k in PDF format. As I said before, I also made templates for the centerboard, and bulb keel strut t...

Re: SB18

Hernan what you can do is draw and cutout Frame C first. Lay Frame C on a piece of plywood and trace the hatch opening on to it. On sheet B218/7, it shows there is 12 mm (1/2") slot for the washboards, so you'll need to expand the hatch opening you traced by 12 mm. Of course later when you actually ...

Re: SB-18 U bolts

Actually Evan I was referring to the hole in the spin pole support bulkhead, not the hole in the hull side panel. I've not cut the holes yet since I don't have my pole yet.

Thanks Jacques. I'll go look for that HOWTO.

Re: SB-18 U bolts

Do you mean I should be able to put my hand through the hole for the spin pole? I've always assumed my hand might not fit. If my hand will fit then that will solve a lot problems.

Re: SB-18 bowsprit

Thanks Evan ... actually I thought you'd say this which is why I've not mentioned it. Finding a suitable pole is one reason my build it being held up. Do you think it would be a bad idea to cut the hole using a 3" pipe of a different material (e.g. PVC or steel) as a dummy until I can find an alumin...

Re: SB-18 U bolts

Is there a U-bolt "at the lower stem"? I can't find it on my drawings. I guess you could put one, I might if I find it is need for trailering. The plans do not call for it but I did put a batten down the stem. I did so because I am not using the same level of plywood, I even put biax on both side of...
