Re: floatation

I had a couple of compartments I wanted to pour foam in, I dropped a small space heater in there first to warm up the walls before I poured the foam. I'm convinced that I got more expansion out of the foam that way. It would be harder to do for a big, open area, but warm is better than cool when it ...

Re: ply

I thought that I'd have an easy time finding the full spectrum of marine plywood in my area (South Georgia coast), but marine fir is about all they stock, and the prices are high. When I order my ply for my first build I'm probably going to get it from Boat Builders Central (Bateau), hopefully I can...

Re: duck skiff

How are sponsoons different from sponsons? Wikipedia has the definition of sponsons as follows: Sponsons are projections from the sides of a watercraft, for protection, stability, or the mounting of equipment such as armaments or lifeboats, etc.

http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/17970/normal_foam-c.jpg Cleats in this case mean pieces of epoxy coated wood (3/4" x 3/4" or bigger strips) epoxy glued to a bulkhead or the hull side that you will then glue your sole panels to. They will support the panels and allow them to be structural...

Would you mind sharing with us what it is and why you are choosing it? The boat's looking great, btw.
