Re: DAYTRIPs Bertram 28 Strech

You are correct Cape man! Got the first coat of coal tar on. Use about a half a gallon. Using Rust-Oleum brand only because granger had it. Plan to do a second coat to get rid of the rest. Also put a first coat of epoxy and bubbles in bilge. Going to step the level of finish up on this on a bit. Als...

Re: DAYTRIPs Bertram 28 Strech

Totally agree with that Fuzz. Plus I typically don’t own them for long enough to matter. Eitherway I just want to do a quality install.

Re: DAYTRIPs Bertram 28 Strech

Ok. Slight change of plans. I was convinced to coal tar and foam the tanks in. Did the pre work today. Sanded with 80 on dA, washed with soap and scotchbrite , alumiprep then adonline. Will coat them tomorrow. http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/14945/67AD9460-586D-4D54-B73A-955E4F231E99.jpeg

Re: DAYTRIPs Bertram 28 Strech

Been a long time since the last update on this one. The stringers are in and the molds have been taken out of the extension. Have fabricated the fuel tanks and are preparing to set them in permanently. Three tanks totaling 340 gallons. I have done a lot of modeling and weight and balance calcs on th...

Re: 28 BERTRAM OUTBOARD CONVERSION

Thanks browndog. Someone should put a boat forward. They are looking for content I am sure. Deepseevisuals is the film company responsible for putting the show together. The CS23 built in Stuart by Walkers run a couple years ago would be a great candidate.

Re: 28 BERTRAM OUTBOARD CONVERSION

Thanks fuzz! It runs great. It will run 30-35 comfortably in a head on 2 ft tight chop. 25 in a 3. 20-25 through most anything else I would be out in
