D5 - SH14 Sail(s)...One Sail, 2 boats?

Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on my second D5 build... flipping the hull probably this weekend. She's been an interesting "refresher" build after an 8 year lee. Looking at ordering the sail from Ft. Lauderdale soon, however I have finally decided to build the Sharpie next, so my question...

Re: Bad times and hard decisions

My deepest sympathy, Larry.

Going through that myself, now. My Mom is 84, and in the early stages of Alzheimer's. Of my three siblings, only my older sister and I discuss what to do when then time comes. We buried my stepfather on June 6th. He was 97.

Re: Sudden squall today...

What kind of coin did you have to drop for the GoPro? My main camera capable of video as well is a Nikon, and while I have routinely taken in out in my offshore boat, I'd be a little hesitant on the D5. I've seen some pretty good videos taken with the GoPro's!

Re: Sudden squall today...

Thanks, Ks8, Tony, and Jacques.... I waited until morning and cautiously fired that puppy up. All is well. Work goes on. The Florida Heat did the trick. I just love building again, even if it's just another D5. This week I'm eyeing the Caravelle for the next build, or perhaps the Sharpie. I can't de...

Re: Sudden squall today...

Thought of that, Jacques. I haven't used one in years, as I'm now 60 and hair has been thinning for a while now. It air dries in minutes. I don't mind waiting a few days.... as I said, I have plenty to do. I LOVE retirement! I've never been busier.... Perhaps in a couple of days.... I don't want to ...

Sudden squall today...

...and my 3" x 18" Handheld belt sander wasn't drenched, but got a little wet before I got to it. I put it inside. Whilst we need the rain, I didn't need the delay, but upon reflection.... I have enough to do to keep me busy on my D5 build. Any thoughts on how long before I can use it? Tomorrow? Cou...

Re: 2 missing 14yo boys on 19'cc

Still praying as well. I'm with Larry on this....BTW, excellent post. Methinks I'm even a tad older, and grew up much like you, except without a Dad for guidance. I too took to the ocean at an early age. In my thirties I kept a 19 foot Robalo CC at a old Florida style marina at Sebastian....she was ...

Re: Florida D5 #2 build...

Been wanting to at least paint the under seat storage areas with S3 primer.... but the Summer rains are here in Central Florida, and are coming early in the work day. I did, however manage to pick up this mast and sail from a windsurfer today locally for $50. It was touted to be carbon fibre in the ...

with 8 years between the two boats. It's good to be back building again. No one ever told me that the B...
