Re: LM18 in Perry, GA

I had the opposite problem during my FS18 build, my stringers set below the frames. I was told to shim to flush them up with the frames. I would suspect you would need to flush yours as well, in your case trim. Perhaps Jeff or another builder can confirm since you are building and LM18, but again, w...

Re: Mikem59 FS18 Build

Thanks Eric. I was pleased with how it looked once on. Certainly gave it more of the look of the production boats.

Re: Mikem59 FS18 Build

Hope you all don't mind posting a couple of pics showing the rub rail installed. I meant to post awhile back and had issues. And, currently, laid up recovering from knee surgery, so have some time on my hands. I installed a Taco rub rail. Picking a hot day and laying the rub rail on the concrete dri...

Re: FS18 Boat Cover

Update: Bought the 18-20’ boat cover along with a pole to support it and drain water off from Academy and it works well. It covers the entire boat with the sightcasting and poling platforms with the exception of the motor. The fit is pretty good and snug.

Re: FS18 Boat Cover

Thanks all for the input. Jaysen and Johnstonjosh like you both said, the tarp isn’t secured well, crap still gets in the boat and it doesnt shed rain well. Jeff, hold off on pricing one, I may give Orangequest’s option a try as I’m here in Texas as well. I’ll make a run to the Academy just down the...

Let’s just say I took my time  And, this forum is chock full of expertise and help! Looking forward to seeing your build progr...

FS18 Boat Cover

Currently, I’m using a tarp to cover my FS18. I’ve searched internet for one and haven’t found anything that appears to be suitable. Has anyone else found a good boat cover that’ll fit the FS18. Note, I have a poling platform as well? Otherwise I may just cut down this tarp and put in some new gromm...

Re: My FS18 Straight Shear hard chine Splashed 6/15!

How do you like you 20hp Suzuki? I would like to put the 25hp on my FS14 build. Orange quest I’m quite pleased with the Suzuki 20 hp. I wanted the 25 but if I recall, the 25 hp was nearly 20 lbs heavier. With trim tabs and an Atlas Micro Jacker jack plate also on the back I didn’t want the added we...

Re: My FS18 Straight Shear hard chine Splashed 6/15!

Congrats on the splash! Good looking boat. I’m biased too as my FS18 exterior paint color is quite similar.

I’m a bit jealous of your boats performance, but I’m happy with my 20 hp 4 stroke Suzuki.

Enjoy!
