We were there two weeks ago and stayed on the east end closest to st johns.take the ferry to st johns for the day,just incredible.Remember that you need a passport to go outside the USVI.You even need a birth cert to get back through customes from st thomas.Stay away from the cruise ship shopping ar...

Over on the Wooden Boat forum there is a thread about a design contest sponsored by Professional Boatbuilder magazine.The perameters are 25 hp max,16-18 feet,any constuction method,seaworthy and no more than two gallons per hour fuel consumption at a min of 15 mph. I had hoped for a small e-tec.but with really nice,light,low profile four stokes available for half that price,I don't think so.probably quieter too.

What motor do plan to use?

I'm thinking maybe as low as a 25 hp four stroke in order to fit under the cover.
