Re: FS14 sole question

Martin, I lowerd the stringers on my FS14. I reduced the height halfway. (Only between the rear bench and the bench in front. I made no adjustments under the benches) I gained extra stiffness by putting "cross" stringers between the langitual stringers. This and glueing the sole gives probably more ...

Re: 40hp on an FS14

Hi Fryfly, if the weight of your engine is less than 180 lbs, the weight shouldn't be a problem. my 25HP 4-stroke weighs about 220 lbs. Bigger problem is the overpowering.. 25 HP on my FS14 was to much. I had to put a hydrofoil (sharktale) on my engine and even than I only could go 2 ways: almost no...

Re: Novi 23 with motorwell

Hi Spokaloo, I've also looked at the FL26. In my opinion one of the best looking boats from Jaqcues. But my first boat was the FS14, than bought the FS17 plans but build the OD16. The Fs14 was a much easier ride in a chop. I like the space in the OD16 (great boat !!) but the flat bottom is not my th...

Same goes for the stringers etc. I won't make any structural changes except for moving the whole motorwell 1,5 to 2 ft forward. I only w...
